They don't want to take the time and energy to think for themselves. It's frightening to consider the number of folks who turn off their brains when entering their churches. Parents are too lazy to look for an alternate school for their children and just go with the flow of a basic public school. My husband is a great example of a thinker and I believe (hope) he is a great inspiration to our children to never be satisfied with the status quo but to think for themselves. As he often says: "there's no off position on the genius switch". And he willing imparts his thoughts to us-making us think too!theonemomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01152244667755799476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868431464441993856.post-80117881051572676812011-08-18T06:53:24.765-07:002011-08-18T06:53:24.765-07:00The answer is implied in my second to last paragra...The answer is implied in my second to last paragraph, which is: reverence for greatness. I find that living by my principles can and does serve as a beacon of light. In fact, one of my goals in writing these articles is to showcase my love of positive values. I find that people respond far better when you hold something beautiful to the light and give them the opportunity to discover it, too.Jason Lockwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14640777950155178311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868431464441993856.post-47344094831678079432011-08-18T06:47:20.732-07:002011-08-18T06:47:20.732-07:00I agree. We need to teach our children this basic concept, and extend it with methods of critical thinking.

The question I have is how do we get others to think the same?

I like the second last paragraph. We should find more things to marvel at and use that as inspiration for each other and our children.

Again, your writing is elegant, eloquant and thought provoking.
Steven B!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
